Community Emergency Preparedness

The Oak Hill Fire Department and Westlake Fire Department offers to the community
a course on effective preparation and handling of emergencies. Situations
covered include flash flooding, wildfires, and severe storms with lightning,
tornadoes, or large hail.
Class attendees will learn how to operate a fire extinguisher, administer basic
first aid, build an emergency supply kit, and how to effectively keep in touch
with family and friends when typical methods of communication are unavailable.
Also included is a summary of area emergency operations for fire department and
EMS response services.
The Personal Emergency Preparedness course is three hours long, geared to
citizens of all ages, and free to residents of the Oak Hill and Westlake fire
districts. Pre-registration for the course is required as each class is limited
