community a course on effective preparation and handling of emergencies.
Situations covered include flash flooding, wildfires, and severe storms with
lightning, tornadoes, or large hail.
Class attendees will learn how to operate a fire extinguisher, administer basic
first aid, build an emergency supply kit, and how to effectively keep in touch
with family and friends when typical methods of communication are unavailable.
Also included is a summary of area emergency operations for fire department and
EMS response services.
The Personal Emergency Preparedness course is three hours long, geared to
citizens of all ages, and free to residents of the Oak Hill and Westlake fire
districts.
