Fire Academy

The Oak Hill Fire Academy has released a new policy for all future applicants. If you are interested in becoming part of the fire academy, please click here to read the new policy so that you can begin preparing for the process. The next class will start on January 27, 2012 and is currently full. We are still accepting applications for the waiting list. Download the Fire Academy application HERE.

The Academies offered by Oak Hill Fire Department / TCESD#3 provide a full TCFP accredited course for working men and women through offering classes conveniently on evenings and weekends.

The academy class will be eight months long and will be held on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 18:00 to 22:00 and on Saturdays from 08:00 to 17:00. The cost of the course will be $3200.00 (if you have your own TCFP approved bunker gear) if you do not, there will be an additional $550.00 for gear rental fee. This cost includes uniforms, pt clothes, all books, facility fees, and any other training costs incurred. There will be a deposit required of $500.00 at the time of application submittal which will be applied to the cost of the class.

If you want to obtain your TCFP structural firefighter certification but do not want to take four months off work to do so, then sign up for the next academy! Please contact Training Chief Robert Hartigan at 512-288-5576 x 103 or email rhartigan@oakhillfire.org with any questions.
