Fire Academy

Oak Hill Fire Department / TCESD#3 was pleased to inaugurate its 6th Texas Commission on Fire Protection
Academy Class on Basic Structural Firefighting on Saturday April 5, 2008.

The first day saw the students welcomed by Fire Chief Gary Warren and District Chief
of Training Robert Hartigan. The students were issued with structural firefighting personal
protective equipment aka 'gear', met with their instructors and had a first experience of PT,
fire department style - doing relay races while hauling 100ft of 5" hose!
The Academies offered by Oak Hill Fire department / TCESD#3 provide a full TCFP accredited course for
working men and women through offering classes conveniently on evenings and weekends.
If you want to obtain your TCFP structural firefighter certification but do not want to take four months
off work to do so, then look out for the 7th Academy, details will be on this website.
